The holiday region of Antalya and Turkey, Kemer is 40 km far from Antalya City Center. While it was a small village back in 80’s, with the new facilities Kemer became an important tourism center of Turkey in last 20 years. Till 1960s there were only sea routes to Kemer but after the “South Antalya Tourism Project” in 1980, Kemer obtained needed susbstractures and developed quickly. In 1991 Kemer became a city which is has many holiday towns such as Beldibi, Göynük, Çamyuva, Tekirova, Çıralı which are highly important for Turkey’s Tourism.
One of the leading attractions of Kemer is its natural beauty. Sea, forest and mountains come together in Kemer. The clearness of sea, green of forest and solemnity of mountains give Kemer a unique look. Also places like Moonlight Park, Liman Street, Çalıştepe and Kemer Marina are some of the must-visit areas of Kemer. Starting from Beldibi to Tekirova, all shores are completely natural which are the host of many coves and natural marinas.
The beaches within Kemer are public beach and moonlight beach which are located next to marina and it is also possible to swim and explore the history in places like Phaselis and Olympos which are really close to kemer. Besides with its marina capacity to 320 yacht, Kemer is a important place for yacht tourism. Kemer Marina and beaches have blue flag which are given by Foundation For Environmental Education in Europe(FEEK). Kemer hosts a lot of organisations during summer season such as; Phaselis Art Festival, Redbull Sea To Sky, International Extreme Enduro Racing, Down Olympos, International Kemer Underwater Days, Welcome to Summer Festival, Lifeguard Races, Altın Nar Culture and Art Festival and Tour of Turkey and Sailing Race.
